Comparing My Two Drawings

These two drawing were similar in many ways. For example, for both of them I had to create a composition as a base for further development. I also had to shade and develop both drawings using different depths of colors. Even though the drawings were similar, I feel that I ha a harder time with the candy jar. It was more difficult developing value with colored pencils, and I also had to draw different shades for the way the glass bent light.

The Candy Jar

For the second drawing, I had to draw and color a jar of candy, using colored pencils. This was interesting because not only did I have to worry about the different values of the candy, but also how the glass looked and how it changed the picture. This is a photo of what my drawing looked like while still being colored.

The Bicycle Drawing

For this assignment, our class had to utilize three different types of graphite pencils to make a composition of a bicycle. We had to use the pencils, each one with their own depth of color, to then shade the compositions and give it value. This was an assignment that I really enjoyed. 

This is my first post on my new blog! I am excited to start a new school year enrolled in a visual arts class, where I will learn many interesting things about art, as well as creating my own unique pieces. I hope to use this blog to update and archive my works as I go along, as well as keep whoever is interested updated.
